A little birdy

Hi everyone
boy ...has this been a busy few weeks.  With the election, prepping classes and getting ready for Camp Croppin, I'm just about nearly spent.
Anywhoo, just thought I'd post my version of Tim's Apil tag (seeing how its almost May).  I really like this embossing folder and adding a little vintage photo and black soot ink for distressing it really pops.  And, of course,  gave the birdy a wing.  I love wings.. wish I had some!!
I think I'm getting delirious............
nite nite everyone!!

happy

Hi all,
Hope you all had a Hoppy Easter.  I love this Tim Holtz bunny... he's always in a hurry!!! I really like
using the brushless water color technique.   Apply the inkpad directly onto a silicone splat mat, mist with water until the ink starts to bead.  Lay a cardstock tag onto the ink making sure not to move the tag round on the mat. Moving the tag around will blend the colors and turn it a muddy brown..  Lift tag and use a heat gun to dry it. You can intensify the colors by either repeating the same process or use an ink dauber and add more color from the inkpad.  For this tag I used Broken china and Scattered straw distress inks. Once the tag is dry you can stamp, spray and distress to your hearts content.  Practise this technique using different amounts of water to get different looks.  The more water you use the more it will dilute the ink giving a watercolor effect.... have fun.

Route 66

As many of you know my hubby is into old cars... ok.. cars in general. So we've actually driven a short (very short) bit of route 66 and hope to someday do it again but a much longer stretch of it.
So many of the projects I've created are geared (no pun intended) to women so it was time for a manly man card.  The car, the 66 sign, the tire tracks are all from one set of Tims stamps.  The gears are  an on the edge Tim Holtz/Sizzix die.  Using glossy accents to "Shine" up the windows and "chrome" on the car really added dimension to the whole card.  A little Tim Holtz distress embossing powder gave the tire tracks a little realism.

Well, enough already,   its my bed time ladies... hope you all have a good sleep everyone!!!
nitey nite.

Around the world...

I watched the old David Niven version of Around the World in 80 Days and was inspired by the little watch face with legs and a hat running across the screen at the end of the movie... hahaha.. right up my alley!!!!  I love to travel too, so it seemed fitting.  I've been on trains and boats and even an ultra light aircraft hot air balloony kind of thing, now I just need a top hat.

Love

Ok.. so I know this is not my usual steampunky style but I do love this Local King stamp called ..
Love reaches New Heights.  Lots of layers and textures in this one!!  Everyone needs a little kiss on the noggin' now and then dont you think!!

World traveller

Hi everyone,
I have just spent the entire Easter weekend trying to recover my hotmail account.  Someone hacked my account and sent out some spam from my account.  I apologize to all those who received those stupid "coupon" emails and...I can no longer get into my hotmail account... gggrrrrr.
Anywhoo.... here are some of the tags and cards from March.
I really like this one cause you can see thru it.  The background is a transparency colored with Adirondack Alcohol inks.  I liked the tag shape as it is not the one I normally use.  I used Tim Holtz's vintage cabinet die with the same name  mover and shaper inside so it cuts out a frame. Up,up and away!!!
